Predator 212 governor removal before and after.
Use an impact and it'll go right in on both the governor arm hole and the pressed in shaft hole (no need for a tap) you can knock the shaft out with a punch going in towards the block. You don't need to remove the gear. It all comes out as one. Use a 7/16×20 or 7/16×14 tap for the oil sensor hole. I prefer 7/16×20 for the fine thread.
I will be removing the governor and using the old Governor pivot arm for my throttle linkage and will be showing you the new Autolite racing X plugs guarante...that won't start after removing the governor. You MUST open up the motor and remove the inner governor. It is VERY easy to do. The reason you must is there is a PLASTIC gear inside that controls the governor.

The best way to do this is to move the throttle from idle to full open and note the way the governor shaft moves. If it goes clockwise, then loosen the clamp screw and with the throttle wide open turn the shaft all the way clockwise and re-tighten the nut. Make sure the throttle moves from idle to full open freely after making the adjustment.
Rotate the crankshaft (part#32) so that you can easily pull the governor arm out with pliers. You may have to tap the top governor arm with a bolt to loosen it, then yank it out with a pair of pliers. Note, the governor arm actually says "ARM" on it. 5. The nut could work itself loose inside the engine and wreck the insides. A bolt with an O-ring should be used with red or blue loctite to keep it from backing out making a mess everywhere.
