On mine, removed the fan belt and the tensioner (you need a 8mm Hex plus a 17mm box to remove). Behind it is the Solenoid, It comes out with 2 long 8mm bolts. Turn off the generator and disconnect the battery cables. Locate the fuel solenoid on your generator. It’s typically located near the carburetor. Feb 11, 2019 · I'll have to remove the fuel filter assembly to be able to get at the bolts. What I did was electrically energized the solenoid directly from the battery with a couple jumper wires. It picks up and seems to want to hold, but still no start. I'm assuming the 3 wire solenoid has a "Pick Up" coil and a "Hold In" coil. Removed fuel shut off solenoid to test. Line is getting only 11.5 volts when key is turned on, then 12 volts for a few seconds when key is turned off. solenoid doesn't seem to click when key is turned on but vibrates in my hand for 3 seconds when key turned off.
