Somehow, despite A2 being used as a convenient plot device and having little air-time I ended up liking her plenty. But 9s remains my favourite. 3 simple reasons: I just love characters that dramatically change throughout the course of the story.

A2 > 2B > 9S I love the hack and slash gameplay, and while it was fun at first, 9S gets REALLY repettitive, hence why he is last. Gestalt/Replicant's gameplay felt better for me than Automata's mainly because of the magic system. Also bosses in Automata - except maybe for the first Engels, Simone and the final Ko-Shi & Ro-Shi fight - were pretty lackluster, like 90% of them were hit-hit-hit-dodge-repeat whereas Gestalt/Replicant bosses at least had multiple phases where you had to do different things and felt more epic.I already hate playing as 9S because of the hacking mini-game. I keep screwing up the hacks on the first boss. I assume the hacking is only going to get more hard as I play? I'm honestly considering quitting the game because I really am not enjoying hacking.
