I think the Polaris AGL has graphite in it. It's a strange gray. I use Klotz snowmobile chaincase oil with graphite, and it seems to be the same stuff. Gear oil is formulated to be a bit "sticky" as manual gear cases don't have oil pump, so the sticky oil carries onto the other gears. So, just my $.02, use Polaris AGL.

Like JSMetalcraft says above "A JD20c hydraulic oil can be used in the front Hilliard unit". Not that hard to find but it's at least double that of regular GL-5 gear oil. But the rear differential takes GL-5 80W90 regular oil.
